with the speaker.) You can hook up an LCD projector and use it as an
inservice for your staff. At the same time you purchase the presentation
format, you will receive a download link for handouts (if applicable)
and a link to download an audio of the presentation in MP3 format.
If you want to

EDP628 Eating Disorders Across the
Lifespan - An Alarming Trend
|
There have been marked advances in knowledge and understanding of the eating disorder over time. Also the spectrum of what is called `eating disorders' has gradually expanded into obesity as new conditions such as binge eating disorder have been introduced into the diagnostic system.
We see a trend which should alarm all of us ... from parents to
politicians.

Due to the emergence of symptoms in childhood and through adolescence, research questions that address early preventive and

Course II: Treatment Modalities for Eating Disorders
EDP600, EDP627
|
|
DESCRIPTION
|
|
EDP600
Part I - Treatment of Clients with Eating Disorders Secondary to Attachment Trauma: Utilizing Affect Intensifying Psychotherapies with Schema Change
Part II - Subtypes of Eating Disorders Clients and Implications for Prognosis, Treatment and Etiology, Mark Schwartz, ScD and Lori Galperin, LCSW
|
EDP600:
Dissociation is more related to early attachment problems than acute or chronic trauma. Eating disorder is very much an ego-state that “hijacks” the body, with concomitant poor self-differentiation. Many eating disorder patients come from families with no overt trauma. Review with us the presenters experience with eating disorder clients at an intensive inpatient setting, utilizing a
Dissociative and attachment based model.
Those with eating disorders desperately attempt to seek approval and acceptance, and may find it, temporarily, through the pursuit of thinness or the comfort of food.
Underlying issues, current stressors, and biochemical predispositions may cause one to turn to starving, bingeing, purging, or compulsively exercising as a means of coping.
